Second development update

Over the summer, I've been working on some important aspects to improve the game:

  • Gradual enemy difficulty: In the first three levels, I've adjusted the number of enemies so that the challenge increases progressively. This change should make the early game experience more balanced and enjoyable.
  • Enhanced enemy aiming: I've made improvements to the enemy's aiming capabilities. The enemies employ target-leading to hit the player accurately. An issue that arose due to this is that enemies tend to miss their target when the player changes direction rapidly/often. To remedy this problem I’ve made the leading less pronounced if the player changes direction repeatedly.
  • Unlockable weapons: The weapon unlocking mechanics in the shop is not yet implemented. It will provide a sense of accomplishment as you progress throughout the game.
  • Boss encounters: I'm excited to announce the introduction of boss encounters in the prelude. In the full game, players can look forward to encountering bosses at regular intervals, providing a tougher challenge as they advance. Defeating a boss will also come with its own set of rewards.

Current Progress

Many of the improvements mentioned above are either completed or in the final stages of development. I'm confident that these changes will enhance the overall gameplay experience. Your feedback and support are invaluable as we continue to refine the game further.
